LEE SCHMALZ

I am the Lead Data Engineer at Prenosis, a clinical data expert, a published researcher, an AI data curator, the creator of StreetSeekr, and an ultra trail runner.

Lead Data Engineer at Prenosis

Prenosis is bringing precision medicine to acute care. Our Sepsis ImmunoScore is the first-ever FDA authorized AI Diagnostic for the diagnosis of sepsis and the prediction of adverse outcomes. Our Immunix platform aims to efficiently deliver precision medicine tools into workflow. I am responsible for our data engineering efforts to build long-term unified data stores for our clinical studies, live product implementations, and our lab and biobank.

Clinical data expert

My expertise is in building high-quality clinical datasets. I am well-versed in industry data standards, data models, and clinical vocabularies (FHIR, OMOP, LOINC, and more). I have built scalable data pipelines and data warehouses to unify data from dozens of observational studies and interventional trials at many different hospitals.

Published researcher

I have contributed to 15 publications as a data scientist and/or data engineer.

AI data curator

In my spare time I do data curation for frontier AI labs like OpenAI and Anthropic, specifically focused on coding applications. I generate agentic coding traces with labeling that is suitable for reinforcement learning, and do comparative evaluation of their SOTA models.

Creator of StreetSeekr

StreetSeekr is a daily geo scavenger hunt game where players race to find random targets in Google Street View anywhere in the world, judged by an AI vision language model. Play today’s hunt, or check it out on YouTube!

Ultra trail runner

I love a quiet morning on the trails. Results:
